Microsoft is retiring Basic authentication with email Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) in September 2025 due to security vulnerabilities. You will have to prepare to update your application to support OAuth for improved protection when using SMTP AUTH to send email. Prepare For This Change
Docubee is preparing by working on updates to support OAuth.
If you are using custom SMTP via Microsoft, you will need to prepare to transition to OAuth before the deprecation of Basic authentication in September 2025. To ensure uninterrupted email service, we will use our servers to deliver emails if yours is not updated. Please update your system before Basic authentication is deprecated.
Although you do not have to make any changes now, you can prepare by referring to Authenticate an IMAP, POP or SMTP connection using OAuth for details on registering your application, getting an access token, authenticating connection requests, and more.
